A young man tragically lost his life after falling from a moving train in the Barhaj area of Deoria district. Authorities reported the incident on Sunday.
The accident occurred on Saturday night around 8 PM while the victim was aboard the Barhaj-Bhatni passenger train.
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Durgesh Prasad, a resident of Pipra Bhuli village. According to police, Durgesh had traveled to Barhaj market and was returning home on the train when the incident took place.
As he neared his village, he leaned out of the train to look outside, lost his grip, and fell, resulting in his immediate death.
Upon receiving information from local villagers, Barhaj police arrived at the scene. They discovered a ticket to Satarav station and an Aadhaar card near the victim, which helped in identifying him. Station Officer Rahul Singh confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem, and an investigation is underway.
